Drone cleaning

We clean what ladders can't reach, without walking your roof.

A professional spray drone carries our soft wash solution to the high, steep, and inaccessible areas, up to roughly 200 feet. No lifts, no scaffolding, and never a foot on your tile.

What drone cleaning is

Drone cleaning uses a professional spray drone to apply our low-pressure soft wash solution to the parts of a roof or building that cannot be reached safely or efficiently from the ground or a ladder. The drone carries the solution to the surface while the operator controls the spray from the ground.

It is not a replacement for a full clean. It is the tool that lets us finish one. We clean everything we can reach from the ground and ladders, and send the drone to the high and inaccessible areas, so the whole surface gets an even treatment.

Soft wash, not high pressure

Roofs and building exteriors are never cleaned with high pressure. High pressure cracks tile, strips shingle granules, and forces water behind surfaces. The drone delivers the same gentle soft wash we use everywhere else: the cleaning solution does the work, not force.

How high we reach

For high work above the fourth floor we fly an Apellix drone, built for exterior cleaning, up to roughly 200 feet, about 18 stories. It is flown manually by a skilled operator, in suitable wind conditions, with wind direction deciding the order we work a surface. That care is what separates a professional drone operation from someone who bought a drone last month.

Why not just spray from the ground?

You can reach a lot from the ground, and we do. But blasting a tall roof with solution from sixty feet below sends most of it scattering through the air, with overspray on everything below and uneven coverage up top. Flying close to the surface and spraying square to it puts the solution exactly where it belongs. Close and controlled beats far and hopeful.

Flown by a certificated pilot. Backed by real coverage.

Drone cleaning is aviation work. Here is who is flying, what we fly, and how you are protected.

FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot in Command

Every flight is flown by Rob Wood, an FAA Part 107 certificated Remote Pilot in Command, who is also an FAA Part 91 instrument-rated private pilot and an FAA Advanced Ground Instructor. A trained visual observer supports every flight.

The Apellix B1 soft-wash drone

We fly the Apellix Power Wash System B1, a heavy-lift soft-wash drone built in Jacksonville, Florida, that cleans structures up to about 20 stories. Battery-electric, low-pressure, and flown by hand, with no lifts or scaffolding.

Insured for aerial operations

$1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate general liability, plus $2,000,000 in dedicated aerial operations coverage and a separate flight insurance policy. Workers' compensation for all employees. Certificate of Insurance on request.

Flown by the book

Pre-flight site survey and risk assessment, LAANC authorization and NOTAM review, a two-person crew, and full FAA Part 107 and OSHA 1910 compliance. We stop the moment wind or weather exceed safe limits.

Service-disabled veteran-owned and Florida-licensed. All work is performed by Exo-Pro employees, never subcontractors.

How a drone job works.

  1. Inspect and document

We walk the property, note the access, and document any pre-existing issues like cracked tiles or damaged screens with photos, so there are no surprises later.

  2. Clean what we can reach

The lower and reachable areas are soft washed from the ground and ladders, the safe and efficient way.

  3. Fly the rest

The drone treats the high, steep, and screened areas a ladder can't reach, in the right sequence for the wind.

  4. Protect it

On many jobs we finish with CitraShield, a protective coating that slows regrowth so the surface stays clean longer.

Where the drone earns its place.

Tile roofs of any height

Steep sections, ridges, and peaks a ladder can't safely reach, cleaned from the air with no one on the tile.

Two-story and larger homes

Roofs and upper walls reached without putting a worker on a wet, sloped surface two or three stories up.

Screen enclosures and obstructions

Areas blocked by screen cages or hard to access on foot are reached cleanly from above.

Commercial and multi-story

Building exteriors well beyond ladder height, cleaned without lifts, scaffolding, or shutting down access.

Drone work, proven on real projects.

From a college water tower to hospital towers, we put drone cleaning to work where it matters.

Daytona State College Water tower cleaned by drone, no lift required High-reach
AdventHealth Hospital exteriors cleaned with drone and soft wash 150,000+ sq ft
Flagler County Government Justice Center, Government Services Building, and the airport control tower Public facilities

Common questions.

Do you walk on the roof at all?

Not on tile. We clean what we can reach from the ground and ladders, and the drone handles the areas we cannot reach safely, so no one walks your tile.

Is drone cleaning safe for my roof?

Yes. It is a low-pressure soft wash, the standard safe method for roofs, applied gently and in controlled amounts. We protect and rinse surrounding landscaping as needed.

Is it more expensive than traditional access?

Not necessarily. For tall, steep, or hard to access surfaces, the drone is often more cost effective than the lifts, scaffolding, or added labor and risk other access would require.

How far will you travel for drone work?

We are based in Palm Coast and travel across Florida for drone and large commercial projects. If it is a reach others can't manage, it is worth a conversation.
